Morningstar recommends using the Remote Temperature Sensor (RTS) whenever the temperature in the batteries is subject to variation of more than 5°C (9°F) during the year. The RTS will monitor the battery temperature and allow the controller to provide a more accurate charging for temperatures ranging from –30ºC to +80ºC.
The RTS is compatible with the following Morningstar charge controllers:
– SunSaver MPPT
– SunSaver Duo
The sensor of the RTS is encapsulated in epoxy inside a power lug housing to protect it from the elements. It comes with a 33 feet (10 meters) cable and is protected from lightning surges and short circuits.
