The Schneider Conext XW Pro 6848 hybrid inverter offers full grid connectivity and keeps your lights on when the grid power goes out. The XW Pro inverter will monitor the state of charge of your batteries, the available solar energy, and the status of the utility grid (or time of day) to make intelligent decisions and keep your home efficiently powered at all times.

Ready for 120V/240V single-phase and 120V three-phase systems; the XW Pro is a single inverter solution with advanced features to operate in grid-interactive systems, entirely off the grid and with or without solar power. Stack up to four XW Pro units to expand the system’s nominal power output to more than 25kW.

The inverter features dual AC power inputs. In addition, it is compatible with Conext MPPT charge controllers, InsightHome and InsightFacility monitoring, and the Conext automated generator controls.

The Schneider Conext XW Pro 6848 hybrid inverter is compatible with lithium-ion batteries. It also complies with Rule 21, HECO Rule 14H, and PREPA requirements.

Note that the XW Pro inverter is not compatible with Conext ComBox. Instead, an InsightHome or InsightFacility are used to monitor, commission, and configure the inverter.

Residential backup power

The Conext inverter becomes part of the residential electrical system. It will convert the energy stored in the battery bank into power to run the critical loads. When an extended power outage is present, the Conext XW Pro communicates with the generator to power your critical loads while recharging the batteries.

Grid-tied solar with backup power

All grid-tie inverters shut down for safety reasons when a power outage occurs; therefore, your home will not have power during an outage even with a solar electric system installed. When you already have a grid-tie PV system installed and are selling power to the utility, a Conext inverter will allow you to retrofit your installation to have backup power during outages. While the utility grid is down, you will run your critical loads from the energy stored in the batteries. The batteries will recharge when the grid power is back on. You cannot recharge the batteries with your solar panels in this mode while the grid is down. It is necessary to wait for the grid power to be restored.

Residential self-consumption

Avoid consuming energy from the grid during periods when the rates are at the highest. The Conext inverters will enter self-consumption mode and will prioritize the energy stored in your battery bank and generated by your solar system over the grid power. This configuration will help solar system owners avoid high utility energy rates. Worth mentioning is that Conext inverters feature a ParallelPower mode, where a maximum consumption set point is recorded. The inverter then will support the grid to shave the temporary loads that exceed the peak demand. This feature can be significantly helpful for homeowners subject to tier-based electricity rates.

Off-grid solar power systems

When you are entirely away from the grid, the Conext inverters will function as your primary energy source, simulating the voltage and frequency of the grid. For standard operation, the storage capacity of the battery bank dictates the energy available for consumption. However, Conext inverters are chargers and can be paired with external generators to aid the solar system and battery bank during periods when heavier loads are required.

Microgrids

The Conext Hybrid inverters offer a more sustainable and affordable electricity solution when compared to the energy supplied exclusively from a diesel generator. The Conext XW Pro inverter/charger can be paired with a diesel generator to operate as an effective and reliable remote microgrid. The addition of the solar system and energy storage will reduce dependence and expense on diesel.
