Solarland modules over 100W are built with integrated output cables. The junction box in these modules is sealed for better resistance to any type of environment. In the back of the panel you will find two output cables with Multi-Contact Type IV (or MC4) connectors, one male and one female. The MC4 connectors allow for safe outdoor connections without the need of additional measures like enclosures, electrical tape or connection boxes. MC4 connectors provide a very easy mechanism to connect and disconnect the solar panels in installations that are not permanent where the panels need to be stored during some months of the year. Recommendations for the Solarland 160W solar panel:
Medium applications with 12V and 24V solar panels larger than 120W require a charge controller with at least 20A of charging capacity. 20A charge controllers are well suited to operate with solar panels ranging from 120W to 160W. Some of our most popular models are the Phocos CMLup20 and ECO-N-20. Both controllers feature Low Voltage Disconnect (LDV) and can operate interchangeably with 12V and 24V systems. A slightly more robust encapsulated charge controller is the CMLsolid30, it is ideal for installations more exposed to the elements.
You can use the SLB-0114 bracket made by Solarland to mount solar panels ranging from 85W to 140W on a pole or wall. Mounting bracket SLB-0103 provides a way to tilt the solar panel and can be used with a singe panel on a wall or flat surface. Alternatively, the Universal Z-shape mounting brackets SLB-0102 can be used to mount any Solarland solar panel ranging from 10W to 140W on a flat surface.
